Auditions will be held at Ilfeld Auditorium on Highlands’ campus at 10 am sharp on Monday, July 15. No preparation for audition is required. After casting and a brief lunch break, rehearsals will begin, and the schedule for the week will be released. No Saturday performance or rehearsals this year, the show will be Friday at 6:00 pm.
We are offering two afternoon workshops this year beginning at 2:30, ACTING on Tuesday, and MIME on Wednesday.
ACTING: The basic tools of an actor’s trade – observation, memorization, concentration, and imagination are presented and explored in an entertaining manner. The students participate in a variety of fun exercises, learning to apply the actor’s tools to both performing and everyday life.
MIME: People communicate with each other in many ways. Much of that communication is done without ever needing to speak. See how isolations, illusions, key gestures, and body language are all used to tell a story.

About the play…with his ship wrecked and his trusty computer JCN (Jason) on the fritz, brave explorer Gulliver finds himself lost in space with nothing but an Invisible Force to guide him! While transporting from world to world, under the control of the Maniacal Scientist of Lapunta, Gulliver discovers fighting aliens, arrogant Horse Leaders of the foolish Yahoos, larger-than-life royalty (in more ways than one) and robots – all who need just as much help from Gulliver as Gulliver needs from them! Tune in as this sci-fi spin of the timeless tale of GULLIVER’S TRAVELS will take you out-of-this world!
Gulliver’s Travels will be performed at Ilfeld Auditorium on the NMHU campus on Friday, July 19, at 6:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased at KEDP on campus, or at the door, $10 for adults, $5 seniors and students. Children 12 and under are free!
