Phillip Trujillo Comes Home!

Phillip Trujillo by Phillip Trujillo

Phillip Trujillo was born in Las Vegas, NM. He has lived all over the country, having been born into the family of a Naval officer, and graduated from Robertson High School, and received a Masters from NMHU. He has now settled in Santa Fe, but lives on location for his film career. His “day job” as an assistant film editor takes him to Los Angeles for months each year.

His career as an artist began at the age of eight when his father handed him a paint brush and told him to paint what he saw. He has never formally been trained as an artist. He has learned through practice and constant study. His greatest influences are his father Phillip Trujillo, David Escudero, William Adolf Bouguereau, Picasso, Cesar Santos and Van Gogh.

It is his lifetime love of Star Wars that led him to the style of portraits he paints today. He has had the opportunity to do licensed work for Lucasfilm, Disney, AMC and Netflix. His true passion remains portraiture and the human figure.

The show opens with an artist’s reception on Saturday, November 3, from 5-8 PM, and will continue Tuesday through Saturday from 1-4 pm or by appointment through November 24.  You are always welcome, and if the hours are inconvenient, please call 505-425-1085, leave a message, and we will schedule your visit.
