Cecilia Montano | Cecilia will tell you, hers is a career where one can rise to a position of extreme responsibility and authority.

Martha Johnsen | Morning radio Over the Back Fence | “I’ve never found anything really to be boring. I’ve learned something from everything I’ve done, even if it’s been car-hopping at the Arctic Circle, and I think all I’ve done has been to some advantage.”

Robin Carlson | “I just got a good book and read it…I knew I could learn to do almost anything…But there are little things we all need to be aware of and try to change – little inequalities”

Kera Anderson | On traveling to Europe alone at age 18…“I wasn’t afraid of rational things. I wasn’t afraid of sensible things. I was afraid of stupid things. I was worried I’d never have another hamburger.”

Christina Armijo | Judge | “Allow yourself the opportunity to learn new and different things, even the arts and sciences. It’ll work for you later on.”

Kathy Archuleta | “We need to show young girls that they do have a choice to do something with their lives. They can have a career if they want it and they go after it.”

Karrie Williams | About her work for the Las Vegas Optic: “I wake up in the morning and I have something to do, something to write about. And after being here ten years I’m at a point where stories come to me. I just make them heard and I love it.”

Vicki Hemmes | Found herself wondering if she should be “doing something more, something larger or more meaningful on a social or political level…There’s an awful lot of work to be done today in the political arena,” Vicky declares. “Sometimes I think that’s where I’ll head next.”

Sara Harris | “Teaching may be the second best thing to performing – being in front of a class every day.”

Jane Lumsden | “I do know that I can have anything I want – I can do anything I dream…I just have to be careful what I dream.”

Tracy Seidman | “No matter who you are, people respect you and do what you want done when they’re on your land. That’s just the way it is.”

Margarita Sena Gurule | Cecilia Gallegos | “Do something you’re interested in, something you enjoy. Do something that contributes to your community. Make sure your job provides sufficient income, then give to those who are less fortunate than yourself.”

Aile Lee | In 1981 she ventured into the world of large exotic bird breeding with an initial investment of $3600 for eleven birds. “A good breeder can ensure that a species remains true to its relatives in the wild…helping to guarantee the continuation of a species though its native habitat may be disappearing because of human intrusion.”

Blair Mahon Brown | From sea shell shop owner to screen printed fabrics to Folk Heads sold through the World Trade Center, to fiberboard cutouts of life-size human figures to furniture to the Starhill Inn, the only astronomy resort in the country…and it all started with a potato.

Elissa Adami Romero | “What women do is much more than just our jobs for pay. We don’t seem to identify as strongly with our job titles as men seem to. We bounce a lot of balls, not just one or two…A woman can do whatever she wants if she puts her mind to it and believes it’s possible.”

Susan Oster Drye | “I got angry when people doubted I could do it and that fueled me to succeed…It’s exciting thinking about all the possibilities for the company – the choices I’ll have to make and the personal opportunities I’ll have as we grow.”

Crystal Gallegos | “In every job there’s danger. At least in my job I’m trained to handle it,” replies Crystal. “And that’s really the way it is.”
