Local Color 2-Closing
A colorful new art show put on by the Las Vegas Arts Council continues a season of art events locally. The show, curated by local artists Dawne Holmes and Lucy Finch, will open on Friday, July 12, and run through August 25

Missoula Children's Theatre "Treasure Island" - Performance
The play follows young Jim Hawkins and his friends as they sail a dangerous sea of adventure with Long John Silver and his pirate band at the helm. The play is an original musical adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island.
Other characters in the play include Hawkins’s crew, his Sisters, his Ruffian Friends, cuddly Gulls and Seacoast Mariners, plus a Stranger looking for a lost treasure map.
Curtain time for “Treasure Island” is 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door at $5 for adults, $10 for families. Children under 12 and students with ID are free.

Something Tender From It All
The show is wildfire oriented through site-based research, themes of responsibility, deep listening, grief, collective healing, caring for land and water emerged in the shadow of the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon burn.

Silent Auction Benefit Fundraiser
he Las Vegas Arts Council will be having a silent auction benefit fundraiser on Saturday, March 30 from Noon to 7pm at Cafe Colibri, 1814 Plaza, with live music by local performer Ed Breedlove who will be introducing his new cd.
The Arts Council is taking art donations that can be any art form: 2D and 3D art, and art books that people want to pass on that need a new home.

Finding Joy
“Finding Joy” is the name of the upbeat art show by Robertson high School students.
The students in Faith Gelvin’s art class have produced works in a variety of media depicting things from which they take joy.
